This embarrassing event just happened while on a business trip. My luggage was lost by the airline, but they assured me that they would track it down and call. I was traveling with another girl and we decided to go to the hotel and check in. After checking in I decided to hang my clothes in the closet neatly, wash my bra and panties in the sink and hang them to dry. I wrapped up in a bed sheet and waited. My roommate decided she would take a shower. There was a bar in the room, but no ice. I told my roommate I was going down the hall to the ice machine and would be right back. I picked up my key card, ice bucket, checked my sheet for tightness, and opened the room door. I looked both ways and figured I could make the ice room and back with no problem. I got to the ice room, used my swipe card, opened the door and went inside. My first mistake was to set my swipe card down on top of the machine while I loaded the bucket. Without thinking, I picked up the bucket and opened the door to peek into the hallway again. The coast was clear so I started down the hall. As I slipped through the door of the ice room, my sheet caught on the bottom corner without me noticing. I started to quickly walk down the hall to my room when disaster struck. The sheet pulled the door closed and then it held my sheet. I was stunned as my sheet stopped, but I was carried forward by momentum. In an instant I was completely naked except for an ice bucket. I dropped the bucket and tried to cover myself as best I could with my arms. I spun around to tried to grab my sheet up off the floor. I pulled it about me as best as I could and then realized that it was wedged in the door and wasn.t going to come out. My key card was inside the room I needed to open to get it back. I started to panic. I reasoned that any minute someone would come along and find me in my predicament and my embarrassment at the thought of that made me make my next mistake. I figured all I needed to do was gather the courage to step out of my sheet, run to my room, and have my roommate let me in. I no more than gathered the courage and started down the hall with my arms for cover, when I heard the chime on the elevator ring for our floor. I literally gasped in horror. I wasn.t looking at room numbers, but thought I was at my door when I started frantically smacking it with my hand while pressing up against it for one more inch of cover. The door opened suddenly and I stumbled into the room of one startled salesman. We both froze. I was so disoriented I forgot for one second my nudity and said “what are you doing in my room?”. Then it dawned on me I wasn.t in my room but completely naked in front of a stranger. I started screaming for him to close his eyes and turn around at the same time. He was speechless and transfixed. Then my mind went to begging him to just get me a towel from his bathroom. He continued staring for a moment and then reached over to the counter of his bathroom and handed me a towel. Hotel towels have never been large, but this one seemed extra small as I clutched it in front of me. I backed over to his room phone and dialed my room. My roommate answered and I asked her to open our room door and look for me in the hall. I asked my new best friend to step into his bathroom for a minute while backed all the way around the perimeter of his room and out the door. My roommate was confused when she saw me come out of the room next to ours, half naked, and beet red clutching a towel that barely covered the front of me. No one can top this as an embarrassing story.
